Can the # Sign in the Filename Be Removed

SharePoint will not accept files with special characters in the filename, but eaDocX with version control puts a # in the filename. Is there a way systematically set eaDocX to not insert the # sign?

I had the same problem and I believe this has been resolved in the recent versions. I am running 3.2.8.
