Error eaXL: Error in opening Excel Workbook

installed eaDocX 3.9.5.6 on a Windows 10 machine as non-admin.
Excel 2010 is installed.

1. I start EA
2. select a package
3. right click + select “Extensions>eaDocX>Open In Excel”
4. ERROR message: Error in opening Excel Workbook
5. then the eaXL pane opens, but the list of “elements” is empty (i.e. no check boxes nor labels)

do you have eaDocX Corporate Edition?
If you enable the eaDocX Technical Trace (see help for details), what does it say?

I have the trial version of eaDocX.

And the error i get is:
