We are currently using Linked Documents to get Rich Text Support.
The notes fields are being used for “help/guidance” on how to complete the Linked Document.

Is there a way to exclude the notes in eaDocX?

    Hi Barrie,
I’m not quite sure what you mean by the notes field of a linked document.
I thought a Linked Document in EA is just a load of RTF text. eaDocX doesn’t understand anything about the formatting of the text inside a Linked Document (which is why they can be quite bad for the formatting of a document, especially if they contain headings). eaDocX just extracts the text of the LD, and inserts it.
If you mean the notes field of the element which owns the LD, then just don’t include the ‘Description’ field in the Profile (sorry, it got called ‘Description’ not ‘Notes’ a very long time ago, and I can’t figure out how to change it without hurting existing documents)
    Does this help ?

Yes, my apologies for not being as clear as possible in my explanation.

    It is as you describe.

On packages/elements/diagrams we have text in the “Notes” section, and text maybe as well in a “Linked Document” attached to that item.
I would like to exclude “Notes”, possibly on all of them.

I’ve looked through the profiles, and there is no “Description”.
However in the “Package” item in the profiles list I can right click and choose “Profile”
and in the popup remove “Description” from the Summary section.

This implies I need to select every item in the list and disable “Description” if I want to exclude it.

I’ve tried looking through all profiles in that list but none appear to be for “Diagrams”.
The only relevant thing I can find is in the “Package” profile where Diagrams are included in the Summary.

    Am I overlooking something?
    Cheers
    Barrie
