Hi, after a week of working with your product, I’ve encountered several issues that relate to generating tables:
    1. after changing the table style in “Document settings -> Tables -> Basic table settings” and saving the configuration, all other tabs reset causing, in my case incorrect styling of generated diagrams. The same goes when i try to change styling on the “Diagram” tab – all the other settings are restored to default, and thus generated tables are incorrectly generated.
    2. I cannot seem to find any option to create custom table captions. The only way I’ve found is in, again, “Document settings -> Tables -> Table numbering”, but the best result i got was “Table1 – “, which is not very descriptive.
    3. When creating a profile for a table, there are two options that should allow for:
    – fitting the table to the page size
    – sorting the table alphabetically
neither of those options seem to work. The sorting one is especially needed as by default all the table contents seem to be generated in random order.
When i was trying to workaround the table size issue, I’ve found the option in “Document settings -> Tables -> Table sizing” to re-size tables to page width but that didn’t work.

    Additional issues unrelated to tables:
    1. When I try to work on the project without any document opened, I encounter random crashes without any error message – Enterprise Architect just closes.
    2. Opening diagrams with double-click doesn’t work.

Hi, while working with our documents in eaDocX, we have encountered several more issues:

    1. It is not possible to generate a single section containing the Matrix Report. Instead, the entire document must be generated.
    2. Opening a document in eaDocX seems to disable the Always Show Ribbon setting.
    4. After adding two identical EA sections and changing the formatting of one of them, an error appears when trying to change the formatting of the second section.

Furthermore, there are some features that we either cannot find or are not available in in eaDocX:

    1. We would like to generate two tables of the same elements, each containing different columns. Is this currently possible?
    2. We have not found a way to include tagged value descriptions in the document.
    3. When selecting the option to define custom formatting for an Element Report, we would like to be able to create a profile and specify the columns to be included in the report.

We would greatly appreciate clarification on whether these features are currently supported. If they are not available, we would like to request that they be considered for future updates.

The version we are using is 1.5.0.10

For future reference, putting multiple issues in the same forum post makes it much more complicated to document fixes.
I will start with the first post.
    1. please can you send me a test case for this, preferably using data from a model which I have, like EAExample
    2. There is an option to print the table name & notes. Is that what you want?
3.1 – ‘make table full width of page’ was in older eaDocX versions, but was removed, as it didn’t work well with strange (non Eurpoean) page sizes.
3.2 – Sort option has been repaired.

    From the follow-up post:
    1. Agree. This option is not available
    2. Agree. Can not make this option wok reliably with the current settings in the Word document.
    3. Please can you create me a detailed test case for this, with step which i can follow to reproduce

    1. Only way to have the same elements print in diferent ways in the same document is to use and Element Report. These can have their own formatting.
    2. (more to follow)

In EAExample I used Components package to create a quick document.
Then in document settings I changed “Text style – table cells” to “No spacing” and generated document.
At this point everything have generated correctly.
After that I opened document settings again and changed “Word style for diagram titles” to “Caption” and generated document again.
This time the generated document has the correct style for diagram titles, but the table cells style returned to default.

I meant table captions same as it is possible with diagrams: “Figure 1 : Components”. Best i got with tables was just plain “Table 1 – “.
I believe that with the options “Print figure number for each table” and “Use auto-naming of tables” from the Document settings, those table captions should contain name of the parent element.
So with the same quick document as in ad.1 I should get something like “Table 2 – Order”.

I cannot quite find a way to recreate this with the EAExample model. This error occurred originally when I tried to force two different profiles on the same element. The document contained element report and two identical sections – all containing the same elements. If I happen to run into this error again, I will create a new, detailed post on this topic.

I can’t figure out how to add a message to the forum into its own topic. I can only post a reply.

I have created a profile for the Class entity and I added the description to be generated in the document. When I re-generate the document, the descriptions are not appearing. Any suggestions?
