Hello,
Running into some issues and try to understand what I do wrong.
Accoording to the ‘eaDocX Help‘ page, I cannot add a Linked Document to TABLE formatted elements.
The Element at hand is of type Class.
In its Profile I add a new attribute of type Linked Document.
It is added at the bottom which is fine.
The Linked Document ‘connected’ to this Class contains plain ascii text.
I have added the element itself in the Word Document.
When generating I get the text:
Unable to insert linked document for element: ProductInformation of type: Class
As far as I can see/understand the element: Class is not a Table Formatted element. Or am I Wrong.
Please advice.
Thanks!
Using EA 15.1.1526
eaDocX: Full version 4.2.0.1
Looking at the code, there’s only really one thing whihc can go wrong with this, and that’s when eaDocX creates a file called temp.rtf in your AppData folder, where it saved the linked document.
It then inserts that file into the document, and deletes it.
Maybe you don’t rights to write data to /AppData/ ?
Hello eaDocX support,
Thanks for your answer.
Could you please indicate in which directory (i.e. AppData/…) eaDocX wants to write this linked Document (temporary)?
With this info my infra-collegae is able to look into it in more detail.
Thanks!!
eaDocX gets this from a system variable which return the current user’s AppData directory.
On my machine (Win10) this is:
C:UsersIanAppData
(note that by default , the AppData folder is hidden)
