ParticipantHi,
I have a problem when opening a word document that I’ve created with Eadocx. It doesn’t recogninze the profile from the document. I’ve tried this with documents that I’ve created on another computer but also documents that I’ve created on the same computer. It asks me to choose a profile and also doesn’t recognize the sections.
I’m using Word 2010 and trial version of eadocx.
What am I doing wrong? (It has worked before on another computer).

ParticipantCould be lots of things. Without the document to look at, it’s hard to tell. if you’d like me to look, send it to support@eadocx.com

ParticipantBut it’s like this with all the documents, even documents that worked to open before in EAdocx. I’m thinking it has something to do with the new installation. Because it worked on the old computer and not this new one. The only difference is that it’s windows 10. But using Word 2010 on both computers.

ParticipantHave you tried opening it with the very latest version (3.8.4.2)?
This fixed an error with reading of Profiles.24 May 2016 at 1:54 pm #8535Fatin Bapira
ParticipantHi again. Yes I’m using 3.8.4.3. I got another problem now where I can’t open documents. I get error message saying : Error opening Word document. I can create Quick documents. But not open documents or create new ones.
I understand that you maybe don’t understand the error messages (since it’s in Swedish).
But one of them says that the RPC-server is unavilable. And the other one states that the library isn’t registered.24 May 2016 at 3:50 pm #8536eadocX Support
ParticipantThis sometimes happens when there have been different versions of Word on the same computer: Word just gets confused which bits are installed.
Best plan is to do a ‘Repair’ re-install of office: NOT a full re-install. Just the ‘Repair’ option, which makes all the bits of Word consistent.
Please try this, and let us know what happens.26 May 2016 at 8:28 am #8537Fatin Bapira
ParticipantI did the repair, and still have the same problem 🙁

ParticipantCan it have something to do with that I’ve downloaded the trial version several times, from the same eadocx account? But it’s a new computer, so haven’t had eadocx installed on it before.

ParticipantIf the repair/re-install didn’t work, then I have no more ideas. eaDocX doesn’t care if you have downloaded the Trial before – it will care if you have been using it for more than 30 days, but that produces a more ‘normal’ error message.
The only thing I can suggest is to un-install eaDocX, re-install Office, and then re-install eaDocX.26 May 2016 at 9:30 am #8540Fatin Bapira
ParticipantAnd it shouldn’t be a problem because it’s windows 10?

ParticipantWindows 10 is no problem for eaDocX

ParticipantHi,
We are still experincing the same problems. IT tested our old windows 7 computers with the new windows 10 computers and they didn’t find any differences that could have caused this problem. They asked me to give you some information to see if it could help. We need to make this work since we are planning to buy licenses to several employees.

ParticipantHi.
I’m joining this thread as I am seeing the same problem. I am using EA 12.1.1229 and Windows 7.
I am running in a very tightly locked down environment and I am wondering if the problem is to do with permissions for EADocX to run the Office libraries. Does this sound familier?

ParticipantThis is possible, but hard for us to check.
eaDocX does make use of Word .DLLs, so if your environment doesn’t allow this, then eaDocX won’t work. -
