Common Gantt Chart functions

From the main Gantt Chart menu, you can :

• File
  • Save data back to EA
  • Refresh data from EA. This will re-draw your Gantt Chart with the current EA data. You will lose any un-saved changes
• Tasks
  • Add new task
  • Add new child task. The new task will be made a child of the current selection
  • Add a Milestone
  • Delete currently selected task
• Move
  • Promote task. This will make a child task into a peer of its parent
  • Demote task. This will make the task one step down in the hierarchy.
  • Move up / Move down. This will reposition the task in the list
• Zoom
  • Slide the slider to make more or fewer of your tasks visible
  • Best Fit will try to zoom to show all tasks
• Tools
  • View and Network diagram. If no network diagram is present under the current package, one will be created, and all project tasks will be added to it. If a Network Diagram already exists,  any new tasks will be added to the diagram. Any deleted ones will be removed.
  • Cascade all tasks. Shortcut to create a simple hierarchy to a list of tasks. So, for example, Task1 will be linked to TAsk2, Task2 to Task3 etc. This can save some time when, for example, importing a list of tasks from an external source
